Do you want to know what makes #SugarCreekTwp a special place?

THE CITIZENS
Today we had the sweetest visitors. The Bag Ladies Quilt Guild stopped by to drop off handmade quilts for children. These quilts were handmade by these sweet ladies for children to use in times of crisis and need. The Bag Ladies meet at Cross of Grace Lutheran Church which is located behind our Firehouse on 600 West. These quilts will be on our Medic units and will provide comfort to children in times of need. It takes a village and we are so lucky to have residents like them.
Pictured are Shiela Baker and Nancy Hunnicutt of the Bag Ladies Quilt Guild. Thank you ladies!! #SugarCreekTwp #AroundNewPal #hancockcountyindiana
TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN!!!!! #AroundNewPal #sugarcreektwp #hancockcountyindiana
Today marks a special day in SCTFD history, at this very moment firefighters are all moved in to the new firehouse. A Shift and the rest of the firefighters from Station 42 spent all day moving in to the brand new state of the art facility. While there is still some work left to do. It feels good to be home!!! There will be more details about the new Firehouse in the coming days and weeks, including an opening ceremony that we intend to share with our community. STAY TUNED

Four year old James Raugh and two siblings were tragically killed in a house fire 1/8/2018 in South Carolina. His dream was to be a firefighter and the family would like to see James “On-Duty” with as many departments as they can before the 12th. #JRaughOnDuty
We are excited to announce three promotions within our department. (Pictured L to R)

James Wolsiffer previously Lieutenant on B Shift at Station 42, has been promoted to Captain of Station 42 and will remain on B Shift. Captain Wolsiffer is a 13 year veteran of SCTFD, and serves in many different capacities on the department.

Brandon Kleine previously Captain at Station 45 on B Shift, has been promoted to Battalion Chief on C Shift. Chief Kleine is a 17 year veteran of SCTFD, and serves in many different capacities on the department.

Tony Bratcher previously Firefighter on B Shift at Station 45, has been promoted to Lieutenant on B Shift at Station 45. Lieutenant Bratcher is a 10 year veteran of SCTFD, and serves as the department Public Information Officer.

Today, after 38 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Sugar Creek Township, Battalion Chief Terry Hulen is serving his last shift. Chief Hulen started his career in 1980 and has served in nearly every capacity on the department. Chief Hulen was our first career firefighter and his retirement will leave a hole in our organization. On behalf of the men and women of the SCTFD , we wish you well in your retirement. You’ll always have a seat at the table brother. #onefamily #AroundNewPal #sugarcreektwp #hancockcountyindiana
Our little buddy and Fire Chief at the North Pole Fire Department, Chief Bunkers the Elf showed up with some decorations from Santa. The wreath is lit up with clear LED bulbs but Bunkers has orders to change the bulbs to red if we have a fire in the Township. Bunkers has been checking our facilities and ensuring they are safe. He has orders from the big guy to remind everyone to be safe this Christmas!! (Bunkers said it been really busy at the North Pole Fire Department so that is why he was late in his arrival to Sugar Creek)

Everyone loves ice cream 🍦 and it’s statistically proven that ice cream 🍦 tastes better when a percentage of the proceeds go to help local families with Christmas 🎄 🎅. So grab the family, and come hungry, because on November 29 from 4pm to 8pm at the Greenfield Dairy Queen located at 801 W. Main St. They will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the SCTFD Christmas fund, which we use to provide presents 🎁 and holiday cheer to families in need.
Get a blizzard, or 10 and help us help 🎅 spread Christmas 🎄 cheer.
